Seriously Awesome. This was the last pub that is visited in Durham and wished I had stopped in earlier. For a visiting Yank, this was a true pub experience with both great staff (Mark and Alex) and marvelous patrons.

Always a good pint, this is a unique place to have a beer and a bag of nuts. Not much in the way of food, but that's not the point-it is a small place with several rooms (including a snug behind the bar) and piles of atmosphere. This is not a high-class posh type of place, but if you want a friendly welcome and decent pint in a unique unspoilt town centre pub, this is for you.
